The SIVACON® S8 low-voltage power distribution board sets new standards as a power distribution board or Motor Control Center (MCC) for industrial applications or in infrastructure. The power distribution board system up to 7,000 A for the simple and consistent distribution of power guarantees maximum personal and system safety and, thanks to its  optimal design, offers a wide range of possible uses. Thanks to the modular technology, the power distribution board can be optimally adapted to every requirement when designing the complete system. With its combination of maximum safety and a modern design, the system offers a highly cost-efficient solution.

• Tested safety

SIVACON S8 stands for the highest level of safety. The low-voltage power distribution board is a design-tested power switchgear and controlgear assembly with a design verification based on testing. Evidence of its physical properties has been provided in the product testing department under both operating and fault conditions. An arcing-resistant  locking system also ensures maximum personal safety. Furthermore, even with the standard design, verification of testing under arcing conditions is in accordance with IEC 61641.

• Flexible solutions

The SIVACON S8 low-voltage power distribution board is the intelligent solution which can be adapted to match your requirements. The section, either single- or double-fronted, can be installed together with a main busbar system or back-to-back with a separate main busbar system. The conditions of application on the high seas are a special challenge for switchboards: Besides the saline atmosphere with a high air humidity, this is particularly due to enhanced mechanical stress. First of all, this refers to the longitudinal and transverse accelerations by the motion of the ship due to the swell. Another permanent stress results from the vibrations of the ship‘s drives. In 2002 Automatica undertook the license to produce in Romania the Sivacon electric switchboard series and became SIEMENS’s Sivacon technology partner.

SIVACON is a type-tested (TTA) command and distribution switchboard system, whose technical characteristics are tested in the laboratory both for normal operating conditions as well as for fault situations.

The relevant type tests insure a maximum operating performance and safety. SIVACON complied with the testing requirements detailed in IEC 60439-1, of EN 60439-1(VDE0660 part 500).

The SIVACON switchboard is made exclusively of standardized and type-coded modules.

All the modules are high quality and conform to SIEMENS’ design specifications.

The multiple possibilities of combining the components fulfill every requirement.

The low voltage distribution and command switchboards insure:

  • Power distribution at the levels of power center, main distribution board or sub-distribution board (FCB,BC);
  • Cable feeders equipped with circuit-breakers or fuse-switch-disconnectors (conventional or in-line)(OFF, OFPD);
  • Motor control centers (MCC) in “plug-in“ (OFPM) or withdrawable (OFW) design;
  • Automatic central reactive power compensation (PFC).

The supply, feeder and coupling cubicles of the circuit-breaker are equipped with automated type 3 WL circuit-breakers in withdrawable or fixed-mounted execution.

Due to the large number of consumers (loads) connected, a particular importance is given to ensuring a long-term operation in conditions of performance, reliability and safety for the operating personnel.

Cable feeders equipped with circuit-breakers or fuse-switch-disconnectors (conventional or in-line) (OFF, OFPD).

The cubicles (OFF) for cable feeders, in fixed-mounted execution are equipped with molded case circuit-breakers or fuse-switch-disconnectors (conventional or in-line).

The compartment design with its individual sub-section for every circuit-breaker offers increased active safety both for installation and personnel protection.

The cubicles are used in applications in which the replacement of devices during operation is not necessary or when short downtimes are accepted.

The “plug-in” (OFPD) design, in-line, offers a more economically advantageous solution to the “withdrawable” unit design.

The modules are easily interchangeable without switchboard shutdown, thanks to the supply-side plug-in contact and their compact design.

The low voltage SIVACON switchboard in “plug-in” (OFPM) design is an efficient standard solution for motor control centers (MCC).

This design offers obvious advantages compared to the classical design and is destined to be used mainly in the chemical industry, waste treatment stations, water supply stations, etc.

The low voltage SIVACON switchboard in withdrawable (OFW) design represents an extremely accesible standard solution for motor control centers (MCC).
The OFW design offers a high degree of flexibility, safety in operation and availability as well as continuous power supply in the industrial processes.

Thanks to the withdrawable construction quick changes and adaptations during operation are possible.

  • Coupling for auxiliary circuits with up to 40 poles;
  • Frontal panel with hinges of the withdrawable unit (modules with height > 200 mm);

  • Large space for the auxiliary equipment thanks to the possibility to install components on the back side;
  • The withdrawn position can be locked to the purpose of maintaining the safety operation at the consumer.

 

Automatic central reactive power compensation (PFC)

The switchboards for the automatic central reactive power compensation decreases the overload of the transformers and cables, reduces the power losses and the energy costs.

Based on the load structure, they can be equipped with capacitor modules with or without smoothing chokes.

The control unit SEC-01 type is meant to equip the V2ST type electric trams powered with direct voltage regulator.

The product has a wide range of supply voltage, an extended operating temperature range and is designed especially for the electrical and mechanical stresses of the automotive environment.

One control unit connected to the specialised power stage can be used for only one motor control.

The control unit for direct voltage regulator is entirely made of solid-state devices having a compact and modular construction.

It is possible to use the control unit for other types of trams or other electrical actuation means of transportation.

Basically, the SEC-01 control unit has to generate two pulse-type control signals, for the power stages: driving and breaking, within the power part.

These signals depend on certain external conditions entered in the control unit as digital variables and at a desired speed level, indicated by the vehicle’s operator through a digital hand-controller.

The electricity distribution and metering cabinet (FDCP) is an integrated part of the electricity supply installation, at 400 V rated voltage between phases, in apartment buildings, commercial, socio-cultural and administrative buildings.

Functions:

  • Connection of the energy installation of the apartment buildings consumers or city buildings to the supplier’s energy installation;
  • The energy supply can be ensured through one group of fuses, 2 groups of fuses or an automated circuit breaker according to the beneficiary’s demands;

The equipment is used to compensate reactive energy for consumers in the low voltage grid.

Components:

  • metallic box / metallic cabinet made in Automatica with electrostatic field painting;
  • module-based metallic system made in Automatica;
  • dry three-phased capacitors, protection for internal and self-scaring over voltages;
  • automated controller with 3, 6  or 12 steps (optionally with serial outlet RS485);
  • three-phased contactors;
  • fuse-disconnectors for overload and short-circuit protection;
  • miniature automatic circuit-breaker for the protection of the controller’s inputs;
  • switch for the controller’s command circuit;
  • main circuit-breaker (on demand).

Constructively, the versions of Automatica equipment are:

  • – compensation modules;
  • – reactive power compensation systems in metallic boxes;
  • – reactive power compensation systems in module-based metallic cabinets.

The reactive power compensation modules without metallic enclosure can be made up to compensation values of 200 kVAR. These can be installed in cabinets already existing at the beneficiary and can be used as extensions to other compensation systems.

The reactive power compensation systems in mounted metallic boxes can be executed for reactive power compensation values between 12,5 … 100 kVAR.

The reactive power compensation systems in metallic cabinets are made in module-based design and they are executed for reactive power values between 125 … 400 kVAR.

The system offers a series of advantages:

  • reduced power bill;
  • decreased active power consumption with app. 15%;
  • investment amortization in 6-12 months at most;
  • increase of the available active power in the transformer’s secondary circuit;
  • reduction of the active power losses in the beneficiary’s installations;
  • improvement of the local voltage level, thus allowing the power users to operate at rated voltage, with maximum yield.

SC Automatica SA can perform, at the beneficiary’s request, the installment of the reactive power compensation systems.
